Describe (in a short paragraph) a significant breakthrough in your development as a writer: In the ninth grade, we were assigned to write a series of vignettes based on the concept of The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros. My teacher emphasized the fact that we could write about anything- it didn’t have to be a huge life-altering story. With good writing you can make anything interesting. This helped me to put less pressure on my writing and kind of just let it flow.
