The Final 14 Days at the Emory Writing Center
Thank you for supporting the Emory Writing Center! The last two weeks of the semester are incredibly busy for us, and our policies ensure that we are providing optimal help to the maximum number of students. Please review these policies and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. Thank you for your cooperation!
More Opportunities for Tutoring!
During the final 14 days of the semester, there will be 20 additional hours available for conferences.
The “No Show, No More Appointments” Policy
During the final two weeks, you must cancel an appointment in advance if you cannot make it. If it's more than 24 hours before your appointment, you can do this on Tutor Trac. But if it's within less than 24 hours, Tutor Trac won't allow you to cancel online. In this case, you MUST call 727-6451 to cancel. Students who “no-show” or miss an appointment without calling us to cancel forfeit ALL appointments for the remainder of the Final 14.miss an appointment without calling us to cancel forfeit ALL appointments for the remainder of the Final 14.
The 2-Per-Week Rule for Finals
You may have a maximum of two 1-hour appointments per week during the Final 14. We will delete any appointments beyond the second appointment scheduled each week.
Got a Final Exam?
Before bringing take-home exams to the center, you must obtain written permission from your instructor. Your instructor should e-mail his/her written consent to the Program Coordinator at aukani@emory.edu. We can't help with a final exam until written permission is on file. See the take-home examination policy page for more information.
No Waitlists – First Come, First Served
The Writing Center does not use waitlists. If you need an appointment when all tutors are booked, you may come to the Writing Center and wait for a slot to open because of a no-show. Clients are given 10 minutes to make it to their session, and then their appointment is up for grabs.
To sign up for an appointment, go back to the make an appointment page.
