Tutor Trac Help Browser Security Issues Some students report difficulty reaching the Tutor Trac sign-in page from our web site. IT informs us the problem has to do with the settings on the individual user's computer: you need to tell your browser to accept the security certificate for TutorTrac. For Firefox: you'll see an error message and a tiny blue link that says “Or add an exception…” Click this link, and a pop-up window will appear. Next to the box where you see the TutorTrac web address, click "accept." Then, on the bottom left, click the button "continue security exception." This will make the change permanent. For Safari: a pop-up window will say that Safari can't verify the identity of minerva.as.emory.edu. Click "continue." (You may have to repeat this every time you try to reach Tutor Trac.) For Internet Explorer: Explorer will ask you if you want to continue. Click "continue." You'll only have to do this once, the first time that you try to reach Tutor Trac. Logging In If you are an undergraduate student enrolled in Emory College or a graduate student enrolled in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, you will login to TutorTrac using your Emory network ID and your 7-digit student ID number as a password. If you are a graduate student NOT enrolled in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (SPH, theology, etc.) or an undergraduate not enrolled in Emory College (ie a B-school student), you will need to contact the Tutor Trac administrator at 727-6451 to obtain a login ID and password. Click here to log in to Tutor Trac now. Once you login, you will see a purple screen with today's date. Any appointments you have today will be displayed here (if you have no appointments today, none will be displayed). Click the large blue link to make an appointment. In the next screen specify a range of dates for tutoring and then select "WRITING_CENTER" as your tutor's specialty - the rest of the items on this screen don't matter! Click "Search" at the bottom right and available Writing Center appointments during the date(s) you specified will be displated at the bottom of the screen. ***To schedule an appointment at Few Hall, follow the instructions above. After hitting search and viewing the available appointments, make sure the location of the appointment you choose is listed as 128 Few Hall.*** You may click on any of these appointments to schedule tutoring. Let's use the example of a tutor who works from 12pm - 1:30pm. Select any half hour as the start of your appointment (ie 12pm, 12:30pm, or 1pm). Then enter the desired length of your appointment: .5 or 1 hour. (In this example, the system would allow a one-hour appointment at 12 or 12:30, but at 1pm would only allow a half-hour appointment because the tutor's shift ends at 1:30.) Under "Need help in" select the first choice: "WRITING_CENTER." Then click save. You're done! Appointment Confirmation You will receive an automatically generated email confirmation once you've successfully signed up for an appointment. Another reminder message is sent the evening before your appointment. Do not reply to the emails! They serve as reminders only. Canceling An Appointment You may not cancel online within 24 hours of your appointment. Instead, call 727-6451 to cancel your appointment. More than 24 hours in advance of your appointment, you may cancel online. Simply login or go back to the main menu, and click on "week schedule." Here you'll see a display of your appointments in the current week. You may click on the "next" button at the top right of the screen if the appointment you wish to cancel is the following week. Click on the appointment you have scheduled, and in the next screen click "delete." Next click "go to" and "return" or use the back buttons on your internet browser to go back and delete another appointment, if you desire. Tips for Using Tutor Trac - Other Problems The system is by no means perfect and it is new to us! It can be quite testy. It's a good idea to keep clicking the "refresh" button on your brower, especially if you're having problems. Sometimes buttons don't load correctly or new information won't be displayed until you refresh the browser. You may also try using the back button on your internet browser to navigate the system. If all else fails, try closing the brower window, opening it again, and logging into TutorTrac again. If you have additional problems, do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you!
